Dr. Yakubu Adamu has spent his working life inside Bauchi’s economy — first in the banks, then in the state treasury, now in the service of all twenty local government areas.

Born and raised in Bauchi, Dr. Yakubu Adamu built his career in financial services before he entered public office. He held senior roles at City Monument Bank and Skye Bank, led the public sector team for the North-East at Polaris Bank, and served as Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development in Bauchi State — the office that touches every naira the state collects and every naira it spends.
He was affirmed as the Allied Peoples Movement’s candidate for the 2027 Bauchi governorship at Government House in May 2026, with Mahmood Babamaji Abubakar as his running mate, on a platform of continuity, internal party democracy and an issue-based campaign.
Good people of Bauchi, I stand before you not just as a candidate, but as a partner in our shared journey toward a more prosperous future.
Dr. Yakubu Adamu
